Jesus Christ. What was that? The barghest winced, her sensitive ears ringing with the screaming of children. What the hell happened? She covered her ears too late, cringing in pain as her gaze turned toward what should have been two beautiful bundles of joy, which were now screaming mercilessly for all the mall to hear.

Her head split with a headache as Silky tried to help, but it didn’t. They just screamed louder. How did she help in a situation like this? Well, fuck...

The beast approached the parents and quieted her mind for a moment as best she could with the screaming. Unlike usual, her approach was timid, moving closer to the source of the pain. “Hey, now. Shhhh shhh shhh. It’s alright. Big, scary man isn’t going to hurt you, sweet babies. You’re alright.” She said, copying the tone the parents were using to try to soothe the blonde haired babies.

It's a good thing you rerolled, Epic Fails were what you could blame for everyone's damage! However, with your reroll, you popped a success!

As you approach the children, your soft sultry voice seemed to soothe both of them. The parents would set them both back down into the stroller, an apologetic look in their eyes. The father of the two would step forward, bowing his head to the group. "I'm so sorry, children are such handfuls. I hope your ears are, okay? Was your friend saying something about a shop? Here, just hand me a flier and we'll be quickly out of your way." He reached out to you, waiting for you to hand him a paper. Once you handed him one, he and his beautiful family would quickly make their way away from you and your group.

The Siren family is leaving, and that's hopefully the last time you ever see them. Now that the dust is settling from your encounter you realize in this world events like this aren't uncommon. The other visitors around you seem to be quickly recovering from the babies. With that said it's time to keep going. Another young couple, a male and a female, walk your way, they seem normal enough. Both of them are smiling, today is a good day to be out and about. Perhaps it's time to get the mission back on track?

The ringing in Salem's ears was unbearable. It was like nails on a chalkboard except amplified by a microphone, and the more Salem try to avoid hearing the noise by covering his ears, the more the noises seem to just get louder and louder. Even when the screaming finally stopped, and Salem isn't entirely sure how, he could still hear the screaming in his head long after. Salem crouched down on the ground, as if somehow being closer, as if somehow being closer to the Earth would provide him cover. Screw the ice cream, Salem just wanted to get paid and go home. Maybe pop a dozen Advils in hopes to alleviate the pain, or maybe the overdose will provide him relief in a more permanent manner.

Shortly after he "recovered," Salem took a look at the advertisements he had left over. Only one left. Maybe you could just hand it off to some sympathetic individual, collect his pay, and head on home. Almost as if on cue, a seemingly normal couple started to approach his erection, apparently blissfully unaware to the ghastly wails that happened a mere moment ago. How could they not have heard that? He tried not to think about it too much, it was the least of his worries at this point. Instead he sighed, collected himself, and try to approach him with his friendliest demeanor possible. "Hello, sir and ma'am. Enjoying the weather?" He asked pleasantly. "Well, enjoy it while you can. The weather forecast says it's going to rain for weeks on end, soon. But hey, just in time for you to check out what's on offer at Baby's Booties." it was a weak attempt to make the store seem somehow more worth their time, but it was the only angle he had, and he was too much in pain to think of anything smarter. But, he had a way of coming across as convincing even when you had the worst lie to give.

What was that? It would seem your charm doesn't always work on everyone, that's okay though your team of new friends has helped stop the problem. As you look around at the quickly settling event, your ears have stopped ringing. (You may roll proficiently again) And just as Salem hands out his last paper, a new group of young women walks by you. Give them that handsome smile! You've got this!

Dom carefully removed his hands from over his ears, cringing quite visibly as he did. Slowly, a few coherent thoughts returned to him: Blue. Flyer. Screaming. Pain. Laughter. More pain.

He recovered and passed Rune a grateful nod, thankful to have the trio around despite the oddball circumstances under which they all met. As the family of sirens made their hasty retreat, and business at the mall resumed as usual, his focus returned to the reposing flock of shoppers. This time he'd make sure to look first before making a move, since jumping in blind seemed to make them go deaf last time.

Finally. Dom's mood improved tenfold as the girls swept by, the group seemingly at ease from the previous disturbance. And the best part yet: no kids in sight. However, before approaching the women, he checked behind them for a sling or baby carrier just in case. Nope. They were free citizens.

"Good afternoon-" He adjusted with a deeper inflection and winning smile, purposefully emphasizing his accent to make it noticeable before handing them a flyer. "Pret'y girls shouldn't go wivaaht bein' spoiled every now an' then. Luckily aahr team at Baby's Booties is 'appiest when caterin' ter aahr customer's every shoe an' shoppin' need. Hands on o'course."
