Feeling much lighter as no identification or documentation were required, as scraping together enough money to pay for travel fees was difficult enough. Do to her appearance she had to make use of third parties to sell her wares. Since she was unknown to the world more often than not her sellers would either take the money and run or simply take her creations, not only that but, making it through borders without documentation added more payment in the form of bribes adding more to the already sizeable cost. While she would have liked to have a bit of money saved to help start her business, her escorts held all the power leaving her no choice, but to incentivize them to uphold the end of their bargain.

Taking she began to fill out the papers while listening to his words, pausing on the mention of bloodwork. "Not that I am aware, but why is blood required, is like a sort of phylactery"? Concerned about the need for blood as many dangerous acts can be committed with but a simple drop of blood. Holding her ground for a moment thinking over the risk verse the reward of relenting to the invasive procedure. With all that she has done to come here, giving a drop of blood was worth the potential reward. Nervously extending her arm to allow for a blood sample to be taken, she hoped that this small action will not hold any negative reactions in the future.

The man behind the counter chuckles softly at the question he’d been asked a million and one times already. “People lie all the time on these forms, especially if they have something to hide. The blood is entered into a database, ran through several tests to prove the validity of these papers that you are filling out now. It determines your age, species, DNA structure, among many other things. We also have you fill out the paperwork to judge how truthful you will be to the government and lets us know who to keep an eye on for potential crime risks.” He explained easily. “By the time we’re finished running all the tests, there won’t be any left, so don’t worry about that. We’re not the black market and we keep everything secure.” He smiles at you once more, that toothy grin of his as his orangey golden gaze watches you continue to fill out your paperwork. “Are there any other questions you wish to ask?”

Please roll me a percentile in your next post.

Nodding knowingly as she has learned the hard way that people lie. Even if she wanted to lie, she barely understood the forms as is, an attempting to lie would be beyond her ability. While she did not approve of a piece of paper and a collection of strangers judging her character the fact that it was a government standing in as a moral arbiter for honesty seemed to be lost on the officer. Perhaps this was the one exception to the rule, but she doubted it as even gods are not beyond corruption.

Placing the finishing touches on the paperwork, ending with a signature. Not only is she giving away her blood, but her name as well. Trying to keep up a positive smile as the Officer had been nothing, but cordial, however, she still could not bring herself to trust anyone in a seat of power. Perhaps it was her Mother's constant retellings of the cruelty of the gods or history proving time and again that those on the top should not be trusted. Whatever it was time will tell if her pessimism would be correct, but for now, she had other things to worry about.

" Actually, I'm not sure how one would start a business nor the rules on becoming a vendor. Though I'm probably getting ahead for myself as first off I need money, therefore I need work. Do you know of anyone in the need for a seamstress"? Shaking off the negativity, she went back into her chipper self as she should be happy that she will get to meet and speak with all kinds of people.

Once you’re done with the paper, the man takes it from you and gives it a look over before nodding his head. Since you got a 91 on your percentile, you really did a good job for not really understanding the paperwork. He’s rather impressed. Even your hand writing is rather neat and much better than most of the other papers that he’d seen throughout his work here.

The officer smiles back at you sincerely before grabbing a few supplies as you question him about starting a business. “It really depends on what kind of business you’re looking for. If you’re peddling wares, then the crafter’s market is held every week on Sunday in the main square and is usually bustling with people. All you need is something to set up your stand and to ask permission from one of the planners. If you’re looking for something a bit more simple, there’s a store called ‘Giving Chances’ in the mall that can help people like you get your name out there by selling your wares. They do take a bit of the cut, but it’s a good place to start for people looking to get their brand out there.” He shrugs his shoulders lightly. “If you’re just looking for something like tailoring rather than actually making clothing, I hear that there’s a Sylvan clothing store looking for one on the Alpine Stretch.” He explains with another smile before opening a few drawers to grab some supplies.

“Do you faint at the sight or scent of blood and/or needles?” He asks as he pulled out a non-allergenic antiseptic wipe, a few small paper towels, a cotton ball, a band-aid and a small little disposable needle. He waits for an answer before proceeding one way or another.

Go ahead and answer as you will, no rolling needed this time around.

Nodding as she listened to all of the opportunities that were available to her. While she would prefer to create clothes instead of merely mending and washing them. With her current funds, she could not afford to produce clothing. Since she had little to no choice the Sylavn's store will be her best bet to gain income while working on the side to produce her own wears to get her name out there and eventually work her way to earning her own store.

Losing herself in her own thoughts she jumps slightly as she heard the officer's question. Focusing on him once more than the needle, disinfectant and bandage. Looking back up to him with mild confusion as to how one would be afraid of blood. Shaking her head as she extends her arm allowing him to take the blood sample.

" So if I were to seek employment is there anything I should know"? She was aware that humans had identification and required it for almost anything. While she did not understand it and found it vexing, she would have to submit to these silly rules if she wanted to fulfill her goals.

The man takes your hand, his own is surprisingly warm, inhumanly so, as he takes the little disinfectant wipe from its packaging and lightly blots the tip of your middle finger with it for a few seconds before grabbing the needle and pricking your finger. A quick sting of pain and then no pain at all as he squeezes blood to the surface and then into the vial. He’s done this a few million times or so, so the process is quick, mostly painless and clean. Only two or three drops of blood are taken and then he bandages your finger and lets go of your hand before answering your question.

“You’ll be given an ID card when you leave here and really, that’s all you’ll need for regular employment. If you’re going into something like law enforcement or something like that, you’ll need to get a few other tests run, but they’re relatively simple. Though from the sounds of it, you won’t need to worry about such things.” He smiled brightly at you, those inhumanly sharp teeth showing like a Cheshire grin.

He puts the little vial of blood in a machine under his desk and in a matter of seconds, it spits him out a little piece of paper with hundreds of numbers on it. He looks it over in a few seconds before going back to his computer, typing away at lightning speeds. “Most places will have you fill out an application to work, generally asking most of the same questions this one did, so just keep the answers in mind when you go. The Sylphs are a bit more… Relaxed when it comes to your paperwork so long as you can prove your talents, so I wouldn’t be too worried when dealing with them, though mind their wording and your own. Never promise them anything and don’t lie to them. They make wonderful allies and terrifying enemies.” He gives you a wary smile as if he knew just how terrible an enemy they were before going back to typing.

Go ahead and roll me one more perception check. We’re almost through.

Surprised by the officer taking her hand as she assumed he would have gone for an artery. Simply watching trying to hold back the slight embarrassment as he disinfected her fingertip. Unsure if it was due to her flustered state, but the man's grasp felt oddly hot for a human. The only reason her thoughts did not wander further on the matter was the sharp tinge of pain as he pricked her finger, milking out a few drops into a vial. Holding back her disapproval of the officer's method or drawing blood as it could be another odd procedure concocted by an ill-informed bureaucrat. Once he finished dressing a wound that unlikely needed attention, she retracted her hand pressing her pained finger against her thumb to more quickly clot the wound.

While Nursing her wound, the officer put any concerns to rest ending the answer with a wide toothy grin. Perhaps it was due to her lack of knowledge on human's, but it was doubtful that these features were normal human physiological traits. Not wanting to be rude and point out what may be a mutation or deformity, especially when he's been so well mannered and patient with what must be silly questions to him.

Looking in wonderment as he typed vigorously while the blood receptacle expunged sequences of numerical texts that were beyond her understanding. How did numbers and blood correlate to each other? Staring down the machine in befuddlement as the officer once again broke the enwrapped Arachne out of her train of thought. Explaining the application process seemed to be what she had previously thought, however, she was overjoyed that the Sylphs' fell in line with her own believes on how one should acquire a job. All these rules and paperwork were pointless as one could simply lie, actions speak louder than words. Noting not to promise anything to, and to not lie which seemed like a good rule of thumb to follow with everyone. However, the end of his lesson on Sylphs seemed to give away perhaps a mistake on the officers part. " They seemed to be a perfect fit, all this paperwork and procedures are not something I'm accustomed to, it will be nice to let my work do the talking". Puffing herself as she always gives 100 no 120 percent.

His smile softened as your own expands at talk of the Sylphs. They certainly did let ones’ work do the talking, but they gave them the run around first, that was for sure. But, he’d let you figure that out, he supposed. It was more fun for him that way, to watch the effects of people’s actions be their downfall. Especially when it came to the Sylphs. “I truly do wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.” He said sincerely as he finished up the paperwork and prints something out from his computer. It takes only a moment for the paper to print and then another quick moment to place the small card into a machine. A few seconds of buzzing later and viola. He hands you your very own semi-transparent ID card. It’s clear that there’s magic flowing through it as you can see the way it flows through the card when you tilt it back and forth.

You can take the rest of the card in later, but the more you look at it, the more in-depth it seems to go, your name, your race, your age, your blood type, and a lot of other things are posted on the card. However, there's so much to take in that you're unable to see all of it at a moment like this. It's a lot to take in. Like getting a driver's license for the first time, which this is not, by the way. The officer points at the card to sort of calm your nerves, whether it seems like you’re nervous or not. “Don’t worry. Just keep that card safe and keep it on your person at all times. This is your key to the city and it will give you reentry without all of this all over again. If you lose it, come back here and we’ll print you a new one… For a fee. This first one is included, so don’t worry. And Adrian took care of your fees to enter the city, so show him some thanks when you see him, yeah? He also told me to give you this, to start out with.” The man smiles once more before handing you a little bit of money, not a whole lot, but enough for a good meal, at least and waving his hand. “You’re free to go, Miss Arachne. Be safe while you’re in town and remember that if you need anything, the Eyls’Ayn Police Department is always happy to be of service.” He waves you off with a smile.
