Getting Through Customs (Completed)

Welcome to Eysl’ayn. As you come off the train, plane, car, or whatever you used to get here; even magic is somehow magically filtered through this place. Outside the agency, it’s a rather rainy day and a little bit chilly, but the forecast calls for it to clear up later on. As you enter the agency, the room is bustling with people of all colors, shapes, sizes, and species, some not even in a human form. A few different lines have formed, but most people take a number as they enter and wait for that number to be called. You may take a number and take a seat, or you may go about anything else you desire. Whatever you do, please roll me a perception roll.

While Katharine would have easily wondered off the beating path, enthralled by all the sights and people going throughout their day. She gave her word to the gatekeeper that she would head straight to the immigration agency. Convincing herself to only greet those she passed by, most were not in the mood for idle conversation under the rain while others looked in abject fear over the Young Arachne's presence.

With only a minor deviation from her laid out path, she arrived at her destination. While standing in front of the imposing stone structure, Katharine was unaware of the rules and regulations that human cities imposed. Staring at wooden double doors quizzically thinking over the correct action to take. The Young Arachne recounted the villager's actions while coming upon such an obstruction. Wrapping her knuckles against the carved wood she would knock against the door. However, not accounting for her strength the knock was more in the realm of one trying to ram the door down than a polite knock causing the contents of the building to promptly open the door to discover the disturbance. As the door swung open a man in uniform looked around expecting an attacking force, not a lone Arachne smiling and waving at him. Sighing at the young girl and letting her in he would tell her not to knock so loud in the future and only for private property. Apologizing for her mistake, but confusingly asked the difference between private and public property? Pressing a finger to his temple he simply asked for her to take a number and a seat before correcting himself as seating for her was unnecessary.

Nodding Katharine took a number while keeping to herself as not to cause any more trouble. However, looking around the room and at the numerous baubles and people would sate her curiosity and keep her from causing any more disturbances.

Oh you poor dear... As many eyes as you have, there's just too much going on. Too many people, too many kids yelling, too many shiny baubles to focus on. Even though so much is going on, you notice a few things still. For the most part, people aren't paying attention to you, mainly because this room is filled with a wide variety of creatures. Some are snakes, dogs, birds, weird horse-fish-duck-snake hybrids. There are so many different types of things in the city that they too can't focus their eyes anywhere in particular.

There are, however, a few people that have arachnophobia and have moved as far away from you as possible. No one is hostile toward you. The lines are moving slowly, but at least they're moving. Please roll me some kind of focus skill or some other kind of perception check, or even reflexes or dexterity if you desire.

Distracted by all sorts of interesting trinkets and odd mix and matches of humanoid species, Katharine was far to distracted to notice the group uncomfortable with her appearance. While the line was moving slowly, but steadily it would be unlike that another grand entrance into the public eye would probably not be met with the same understanding as her first transgression. While disturbing others was out of the question currently the young Arachne might as well make the most of her time while she waited.

Making her way to a more secluded area with enough room for her to work, but not to far as to not hear if and when her number was called. Katharine took out her tailoring kit and put her spinnerets to work creating silk to be weaved into usable cloth to start building up a stockpile for her creations to show off to any would be customers or employers.

Wow! If anyone was looking at you strangely, they are stunned into silence by your expertise at your tailoring and your silk creation. Wide eyes are in awe as they watch you, no longer terrified. They're watching you carefully and as you work your magic, you even see two children start running over to you and are excitedly watching as you create your silk and tailor it into cloth.

You do notice that there is one line, in particular, that is moving faster than all the other's, a man working hard and filling out paperwork in record time.



Your number is forth from being called. For now, you succeeded in your dexterity so you spot the child running to you with her shoes untied and are able to catch her once she steps on her shoe and goes to tumble toward the ground. Instead of crying as you catch her, she happily smiles at you and quietly says "Thwank you" with a blush.

These two little ones aren't afraid of you and are much more interested in what you're doing. "What are you making?" The little boy asks, hugging his blankie to him.

"Is it soft?" The little girl asked.

"Can we touch it?" The little boy asks.

You may roll anything to keep them entertained for the time being. A charisma or another Spider Silk to play with them.
