The Dusk Calamity

Since the dawn of time, the battle between light and dark has been a constant tug of war match.

Enter two realms, Heaven and Hell. One ruled by a vengeful God, the other an angry son. Their clashing has been noted throughout history, Lucifer turning creatures against their maker. And the creator lashing back with his Angels.

When Lucifer organized his troops of legion demons, led by the Princes of hell and their generals, they marched toward Heaven's gates. The idea was to overthrow his father once and for all and take claim to the throne naming himself the ruler of both realms. However, what they met was a blood bath.

Angels and Demons clashed in the sky, and on the ground. Angelic and Demonic steel rang out as both sides battled without mercy. This war continued, on for some time before Lucifer himself called out to his father to come and fight. At first, the calls were ignored, falling among the screaming of the battle below. The son continued to call for his father to come and fight him, threatening the realm of light as well as the earthen plains if he didn't do as he commanded. The father knew his son's anger was too great to see reason, so he indeed took up arms against him.

Light filled the sky as the two stuck at each other. Each time, Sword would hit shield, shield to the sword. Each time one weapon broke, another would be quickly grappled and used. When finally the Father would make a fatal strike at his son, gashing deeply him across the chest. Little did he know that the same attack gave the other an opportunity. Using the rest of his strength lucifer plunged his sword into the throat of his father. The two would radiate in a show of blinding light, and then be gone. The two had destroyed each other, without a trace.

With their leaders dead both sides were at a loss. Dropping their arms the majority searched high and low for anything that was left, but none was found.

After some time, arguments started to happen on who should rule the realms. Soon two groups formed, one of Angels, and one of the Demons. The two agreed to each other to end this war and form their own ruling governs on their respective sides. A peace treaty was made that their war over the realms would be ceased. However, the middle realm, Earth, was a free realm. Neither had dominance over it. And so goes where our Angels and demons sit today.



Questions asked about the Lore;

How man came to be and were fantasy creatures before or after man?

The worlds are parallel to one another. They very rarely overlap, but gods are omnipotent and in the past have been able to travel back and forth between worlds. They created humans, though the different ways of doing so is still up for debate, only known from the gods and those that have been around for time unrememberable. They also created dinosaurs and other such things. Gods used to be able to move back and forth between universes, but due to the lack of worship, their powers have diminished greatly.

Most creatures were also created around the same time as man, some are newer, however. They have their own storyline compared to the human timeline. They don't overlap.



How did they coexist and what leads to man's expansion through the entire globe?

Man is its own separate timeline in comparison to this parallel one. Man expands on his own and has made their own country of sorts on their own outside of Eyls'ayn.


Were fantasy creatures used to create and uphold civilization such as the Roman empire?

In the past, yes, there have been civilizations that used others to uphold their way of life. However, it's now considered a worldwide crime to do so, much like the Geneva Conventions, as to creaturian rights and how they are to be treated.


Were there and are there still separate empires of elves and such?

Yes, there are still different countries that are governed separately. Humans have their own country, Fae have their own, Elves have several different countries. Different large groups have their own countries, and I'll make a list of all of them later.


What are the species relation outside expecting cites?

It really depends on the species. Angels and Demons still hate one another for the most part but have come to a tense treaty. Werewolves and vampires are much of the same. For the most part, they get along pretty well and all have their own governments and economy as well as their own rules and regulations.

However, not all continents are like this. There are places like the continent of Aferinai (Africa) which are completely unhindered by most others and lives in mostly chaos. Creatures don't really have set countries and are sort of just left to fend for themselves. Aferinai is ruled and governed by an ancient power that is somehow still alive despite the lack of worship that the normal gods feed off of. Aferinai is not able to be entered by normal people without some kind of reason or direct summons, likewise, most people can't leave either.


What started off the huge leap and technology and what was the bases of it?

This is a sort of tricky one... Technology has sort of been in the works for a while, but it's harnessing the energy and magic to make them work that has been the difficulty. The making it is rather simple, but making it work is another matter. However, the huge leap came from the Elves. They created a way to tap into the energy that is currently used to power the countries (which no one is really sure how that happens, but it can only be assumed that it was the massive genocide in the past that created a large pool of magic in the world's core.)

Technology nowadays is based off this tapping into the core power. It is rather controversial considering that they are using the energy that currently powers their entire world, including electricity, 'internet', water and even clean heating powered from the world's core. You can find these different types of technology at different places around the cities, however, they are a little bit hard to come by and you have to know where to go.

Some of these are weaponry, cars and vehicles, mobile phones, holograms, TVs, Androids and AIs, medical technology and advancements and the like. Especially in the city of Eyls'ayn,  these are used very, very regularly. Though there are some stations and such that are trying to power them with 'green' energy, such as water, wind, nuclear and solar power.


How is religion seen in a world where they walk among us and how do the different pantheons interact with one another? Also, how did it affect the middle ages and crusades?
Religion is another really difficult subject. There are many different religions and they all have their gods. It's up to your character who they worship if anyone. Gods are worshiped into existence, if they have enough energy flowing toward them, then they just sort of accumulate that energy and are willed into existence. The problem is that it takes a lot of worshipers to make gods.

The different pantheons have sort of reached their own sort of agreement, much like the government of Heaven and Hell, even after God and Satan are dead. (They are still worshiped because gods can be worshiped back into existence as well). There are hardly any wars between the different pantheons.

In the past, since gods call this place home and it's common knowledge that all gods who have been worshiped by large groups exist.
