Purpose:

Aegeus is Annabel's familiar, and personal servant. When he is summoned by her he usually is used for his stealthy natural talent of being able to get into places and get out of them without a trace. He can also use his natural Wildkin abilities to assist her.

Magic, Skill, Ability:

*Skill/Magic/Abilities: Animal Skill (Play Dead) - Aegeus can look as if he's dead in his possum form. He's not entirely sure how this is helpful, but he's very good at doing it.

*Skill/Magic/Abilities: Animal Skill (Distracting hiss) - Aegeus lets out a soft hiss, this sound can be used to cause a distraction.

*Skill/Magic/Abilities: Animal Skill (Advanced Climbing) - Aegeus is very good at climbing, both in his possum shapeshifted form and in his humanoid form. (Climbing check)

*Skill/Magic/Abilities: Animal Skill (Natural sneak) - He's quiet, and can get into places without being noticed. (Stealth)

*Skill/Magic/Abilities: Animal Skill (Enhanced Smelling) - Opossums have poor eyesight, and hearing, therefore, they must rely on their excellent sense of smell. (Smelling perception check)

*Skill/Magic/Abilities: Beast Master (Wildkin Racial) - You are kin to the beast world. Any charisma talents used on an untamed animal is proficient.

*Skill/Magic/Abilities: Efficient Maid (house cleaning) - Aegeus is very good at cleaning house, and taking care of chores.

How did you obtain it?:

Annabel had found Aegeus in the ditch beside some backroad out in the woods. His small furry white corpse still warm, but mangled from the effect of car tires. Being from the woods herself, Annabel always found animals killed by vehicles aggravating. Often times their corpses were left to rot where they sat, this being seen as disrespectful and wasteful.

Asking the spirits of the forest to give her strength, Annabel would gather her magic. The general attempt was to bring this creature back to life and heal its wounds, and at least give it a second chance. Naturally bringing back a feral animal wasn't such a struggle, it was only after she spent a large amount of her magic healing it that she realized this wasn't a normal opossum. Once it's body fully healed, its beady black eyes opened and looked at her then the creature would quickly shapeshift.

"Aegeus," he called himself. A rather skittish man with white hair and long sharp fangs. Scars decorated his face, possibly from his accident. His dark eyes had an oddly affectionate gaze as he spoke to her. He thanked her profusely, showing as much gratitude as he could. However, Annabel didn't work for 'thank yous.' Bringing this sentient creature wasn't something she would have done for free if she knew what he was before. Annoyed at his stupidity (Being hit by a car) the Witch would explain that bringing him back came at a cost, this being in debt to her.

The usual debt between the Witch and her customers tend to be more for her financial gain. Sometimes trading a rare ingredient, or calling on a favor no questions asked. Aegeus was a different case. Before she could even continue on about a price, the Wildkin opossum all but threw himself at her. Agreeing to whatever she wanted. This both caught her off guard and entertained her. At first, she assigned him to odd job around her home. Cleaning the gutters or doing her dishes. All of which he did without complaining. Every time she asked him to do something, he gladly obeyed her.

Annabel grew fond of having him around, and not long after bringing him back to life she asked him to become her familiar. Before he accepted, she explained it meant his life (A expensive cost of magic) was exchanged for his complete loyalty and obedience to her. At first, she assumed, like any creature, he would ask for another means of payment. Instead, Aegeus agreed to her terms almost instantly. And from then on, he became her companion.

Aegeus can be found wandering around her home in the woods, taking both his human and animal form. His life is a usually quiet one, serving his mistress in whatever way she asks. Aegeus isn't much of a fighter, but he is good at getting into tight spaces.


Tell us about this creature:

Aegeus is a quiet man, he enjoys being told to do things by Annabel and some might even label him as a bit of a masochist. Any attention he gets from Annabel is good attention, even if it seems borderline abusive. It isn't an odd thing to see the two of them exchanging impulsive, aggressive (Always from her, never him), and sometimes risky interactions. Overall he adores her and will do anything for the woman who brought him back from death.

This being said, he can get a little jealous if Annabel brings home another man to visit, but as promised he obeys her without argument.

Aegeus tends to avoid most people, taking on a shy untrusting nature. Visitors that find themselves too nosy in Annabel's house often times find a very irritable Aegeus in the cupboards or hidden around her furniture, loudly hissing at them. While she is with customers, Aegeus likes to sit on her lap in his animal form or wander near her feet. The moment she asks him to do something, he tends to wander off and change shape, then takes care of the task given as efficiently as he can.
